With classes for ages 2 to adult, Rising Starz offers superior training at all levels regardless of the age, goal, or training level of the student. With over 100 classes on our schedule, students can find the right class for their age, level, interests and time constraints. It is our goal to provide the type of training that equips our students to pursue a professional career in dance and other arts should they desire such.

 

BALLET

 

Foundation for all dance forms.  Emphasis on proper body placement and efficient movement.  Technique and terminology are taught at the barre, across the floor, and in center floor combinations.  Some of the benefits of ballet are grace, poise, confidence, and self-discipline.

 

TAP

 

Rhythmic dance that emphasizes footwork and timing.  Students start with simple sounds and progress to more complicated rhythm patterns.  Combinations of steps are done in the center floor and across the floor.  

 

JAZZ

 

Popular and fundamental dance form using isolations and stylized movements. The emphasis is on flexibility, strength, and coordination.  Proper stretching techniques and combinations of steps across the floor and in the center floor are taught.  Various styles of jazz are explored and taught to various styles of music, such as traditional, contemporary, and musical theatre. 

 

CONTEMPORARY

 

An expressive and fluid form of dance that has been influenced by ballet, jazz, and modern dance.  Dances often show emotion by interpreting the lyrics of a song, or original choreography may tell its own story or convey a theme.  Floorwork, center floor, and across the floor combinations are taught.  Ballet training is essential for the proper execution of lyrical/contemporary. 

 

ACRO

 

Consist of tumbling skills, drills, strength & flexibility. Whether working tumbling skills to incorporate into other areas, or to provide a foundation for gymnastic training, we can provide a strong foundation of tumbling technique.

 

Baton Twirling

 

Popular and fundamental dance form using isolations and stylized movements. The emphasis is on flexibility, strength, and coordination.  Proper stretching techniques and combinations of steps across the floor and in the center floor are taught.
